Önümüzdeki Yılda En Büyük Değer Kaybı TL’de Yaşanacak

SEB, Sweden-based, predicts that the Turkish Lira will experience the highest depreciation against the US Dollar within the next year.

SEB, based in Sweden, has announced its dollar/TL forecasts in light of the current outlook for the Turkish economy.

In a note regarding the issue, it has been predicted that the dollar/TL exchange rate will reach 41.00 TL in just one month. This increase indicates an expected rise of 5% in the exchange rate.

SEB forecasts that following this rise, the exchange rate could reach 43.00 TL by the end of the third quarter of 2025 and 45.00 TL by the end of the fourth quarter.

Entering the year 2026, SEB anticipates that the upward trend will continue, projecting the exchange rate to hit 47.00 TL by the end of the first quarter and 50.00 TL by the end of the second quarter. Thus, the bank expects a total increase of 28% over the course of one year.

Forecasts on dollar/TL from 7 foreign institutions
Following the Central Bank of Turkey’s announcement of the second Inflation Report of the year, foreign institutions began to revise their forecasts on the dollar/TL exchange rate. Here are the latest expectations from seven foreign institutions regarding dollar/TL.

The Most Significant Depreciation Will Occur in TL

The note shared by SEB included expectations regarding the performance of many currencies worldwide against the US Dollar, not just the Turkish Lira.

However, among these currencies, the TL is indicated to be the one that will lose the most value against the Dollar.

In this context, it is estimated that during the same period, the Indian Rupee will depreciate by 4.2%, while the Brazilian Real is projected to lose 8.1% of its value against the Dollar.

Turkish Lira remains among the losers
While the Turkish Lira has been one of the two currencies to lose value, emerging market currencies have made significant gains against the US Dollar during this period.
