(Unfair competition) According to the Turkish Commercial Code, deceptive or dishonest practices that affect relationships among competitors or between suppliers and customers are classified as unfair competition. Actions such as a company’s presentation of misleading information about its own activities or those of its competitors, as well as disparaging competitors in bad faith, fall under the category of unfair competition. Engaging in imitation of competitors’ brands or products, or using the names or titles of rivals, is also considered unfair competition. The primary objective of prohibiting unfair competition is to protect enterprises that are individually subjected to such practices.
